Goldman Sachs and BNY Mellon have partnered to integrate blockchain technology into the $7 trillion money market fund (MMF) ecosystem. This initiative uses Goldman Sachs‘ GS DAP® private blockchain to create mirrored tokenized records of MMF share ownership. This is the first US instance of mirrored tokenization for MMFs, reflecting ownership on a blockchain ledger without replacing official records. Major asset managers like BlackRock, Fidelity, and others participate. Investors can subscribe and redeem MMF shares via BNY Mellon’s LiquidityDirect platform, now integrated with its digital assets platform and the private blockchain.
